Description

Soft warm taupe Pashmina worked in the quietest tonal sozni — fine ivory thread tracing small flowers and vines across the cloth, almost invisible at distance and revealed only up close. Naseem is the Urdu word for a gentle breeze; the cloth carries that same just-there quality.

Pure Pashmina from Ladakh's Changthangi goat — gathered above 14,000 feet at the spring moult, dyed once in a soft taupe. Woven in Srinagar in fine twill, the cloth then reaches a sozni karigar who works the entire jaal in ivory single-thread needlework. A self-fringe finishes the edge.

Tonal Sozni in this register — almost-invisible thread on a quiet ground — is the most worn category in the catalogue. Refined enough for any room, restrained enough for daily winter use. Months of work on a single piece. Cruelty-free fibre, fair-wage karigars, each shawl signed by the master.
