Naar-e-Dasht is that colour and that feeling, a shawl woven from the heat of tangerine fire, its intensity softened by stone-hued lines that ripple across it like water carving its own path.

Handcrafted in Srinagar, the historic heart of Kashmiri heritage weaving, this striped Pashmina shawl is spun from the finest Ladakhi Pashmina fiber. The fiber is hand-combed with extraordinary care from the soft, cloud-like undercoat of the Changthangi goat. These goats are raised through the long, bitter winters of the Changthang plateau in Ladakh, where the cold alone determines the quality of what grows. The shawl’s body is a deep, saturated burnt orange, vivid and warm, the colour of a Kashmir sunset seen from the foothills. Fine woven stripe lines in natural beige and warm stone drift and curve across it in an organic, almost fluid rhythm. These lines carry a feathered ikat-like quality, giving each a sense of motion, as though the pattern is still settling, still breathing. A wide plain panel of warm grey-sage anchors the base with calm, considered restraint, making the fire above it glow all the more.
