Description

Natural taupe Pashmina scattered with tonal ivory buti — small jasmine-like sprigs in cream thread, subtle against the fibre — and framed by a wide ornate border of multi-colour floral vine. Yasmin is the Urdu word for jasmine; the body buti carry its white, just-opened quality.

Pure Pashmina from Ladakh's Changthangi goat — gathered above 14,000 feet at the spring moult, left in its natural fibre tone. Woven in Srinagar in fine twill, then taken to a sozni karigar who works the tonal buti across the body and the multi-colour border by hand. A self-fringe finishes the edge.

Buti body with an ornate border is one of Kashmir's most balanced compositions — a quiet field framed by a vivid edge, so the cloth reads restrained up close and rich at the border. Many months of work on a single piece. Cruelty-free fibre, fair-wage karigars, signed by the master.
