Description

One face is Charcoal. Not black deeper than grey, lighter than black. The other face is Beige. Raw fibre colour, warm against skin. Both are the same cloth. You just flip it.

The weave is herringbone twill, hand-set on a traditional Kashmiri loom in Srinagar. Pure Pashmina from the Changthangi goat of Ladakh. The diagonal ribs run in opposite directions on each side. When you wear it Charcoal-side-out, the ribs sink into the depth, and the cloth looks almost solid. Flip it to Beige, and the same ribs stand up and throw shadows. Two entirely different pieces from one weave.

It is thick. Warm like the blankets but cut to wrap. The weight sits on the shoulders and stays. The fringe is self-finished natural cream, belonging to the Beige face, bleeding slightly into the Charcoal edge when reversed. You will notice the drape changes between sides. The Charcoal face falls more heavily. The Beige face falls more softly. That is what happens when you do not machine-process the yarn, and you do not force the weave to behave identically on both faces.
