Description

A bordered Pashmina stole in a pale dove grey, worked on the loom so the pattern sits within the cloth rather than on top of it. The natural yarn carries a soft flecked grain that keeps the grey quiet and warm.

The field is left plain and open, edged down each long side by a wide charcoal border, so the piece reads as a calm grey centre framed by two dark bands. Fine grey stripes run through the field at the ends before the fringe.

Woven rather than embroidered, the cloth is light and fluid in the hand. It is made from Ladakhi Pashmina, fine and even in grain, and closes with a self-fringe at each end.
