Description

The sky over Kashmir at dusk does something no painter has ever fully captured. It moves from magenta to coral in a gradient so smooth it feels like a single breath held across the entire horizon. Gulnar-e-Shafaq is that gradient, drawn down from the sky and woven into the finest Pashmina fiber that Ladakh can offer.

Handcrafted in Srinagar, the historic heart of Kashmiri heritage weaving, this ombré Pashmina stole begins at the shoulder in a deep, saturated fuchsia — vivid and unapologetic, the colour of a pomegranate split open in full summer. From there, it travels without interruption through warm rose and into a soft coral salmon at the hem, the transition so seamless that there is no single point where one colour ends and the next begins. This gradient is not achieved by printing or surface treatment. It is born from the dye itself, worked into the pure Ladakhi Pashmina fiber, hand-combed from the delicate undercoat of the Changthangi goat, raised in the extreme-altitude winters of the Changthang plateau, so that the colour lives inside the fabric rather than sitting on top of it.

As a stole, Gulnar-e-Shafaq carries a lightness and versatility that makes it one of the most wearable pieces in any wardrobe.
