Description

Four panels of dyed Pashmina — aqua, pale yellow, mint, and blush — woven into one cloth and separated by fine pinstripe borders. Each panel carries Sozni buti in coral, lavender, purple, and mustard. Char-Bagh is the Persian phrase for 'four gardens' — the Mughal four-fold garden plan, transposed into thread.

Pure Pashmina from Ladakh's Changthangi goat, gathered above 14,000 feet at the spring moult and dyed into four separate panels. Woven in Srinagar in fine twill using the khatraaz technique — a historic Kashmiri format in which multiple coloured grounds are joined into one cloth. Each panel then hand-embroidered with sozni buti.

The khatraaz multi-panel shawl is among the rarest formats in Kashmiri textile history — prized in 19th-century European and Persian-Mughal courts alike. Many months on a single piece, every panel dyed, woven, and embroidered as one coordinated whole. Cruelty-free fibre, fair-wage karigars, signed by the master.
