Description

Ivory is the hardest colour to wear with intent, and this men's shawl earns it. The ground is a clean, undyed cream, left bare so nothing competes with the one place the work gathers.

That place is the edge. A narrow border is hand-embroidered in fine silk thread, a dense run of teal, magenta, gold and deep plum worked so close it reads like inlay, with a single paisley turned into the corner. Silk catches light where the Pashmina ground stays matte, and that is what gives these colours their depth, every stitch carried by hand by one artisan.

The cloth is pure Ladakhi Pashmina, warm for its weight and easy in the drape. It sits as well over a black kurta as an ivory one, over a bandhgala or an evening coat. Soft fringe finishes each end. A considered piece to own, and an easy one to give well.
