A broad border of paisley is hand-embroidered in fine Sozni, cream and soft red curling through several rows of close needlework, each boteh filled with its own tiny flowers. Every sprig on the body and every paisley at the border is set by hand, the two together the mark of long hours by one Kashmiri artisan. The restraint of the field makes the density of the border read all the richer.
