Description

On some nights in Kashmir, when the moon is full, its shadows appear so defined that the land seems carefully designed. Shab-e-Kamar takes inspiration from this scene: a deep blue moonlit sky, interrupted by bold, natural shadows outlined in silver and softened as if seen through shifting air.

Handcrafted in Srinagar, Kashmir’s weaving center, this check-and-stripe stole is made from the finest Ladakhi Pashmina. The wool is hand-combed from the Changthangi goat’s soft undercoat, found high on Ladakh’s Changthang plateau. The region’s cold climate produces fleece prized for warmth and softness. The stole’s base is deep royal blue, intense and luminous like a night sky. Over this, large ikat blocks in charcoal black and silver grey form a bold honeycomb pattern. Each block is soft-edged, a true mark of ikat weaving, so the shapes float within the blue. At the ends, a wide band of charcoal black completes the design with a calm touch.
