Description

The ground is Cream. Not white, not beige. A warm cream that holds light. Across it run bands of Taupe in varying widths, some narrow, some wider, running the length of the stole. The taupe bands carry a herringbone texture that sits slightly raised against the plain cream ground. You can feel the difference under your fingers.

The fibre is pure Pashmina from the Changthangi goat of Ladakh, handwoven in Srinagar on a traditional Kashmiri loom. The stripes are woven in by changing the weft colours. No print. No overlay. The herringbone in the taupe bands is part of the weave structure, not added after. The cream sections are plain twill with an even surface that lets the eye rest between the stripes.

It is thick. Warm like the blankets but cut to wrap. The weight settles on your shoulders and stays there. The fringe is self-finished in natural cream. The edges carry a slight fuzz, the natural bloom of handspun fibre that has not been sheared down.

This is a stole for someone who wants a pattern without noise. The cream and taupe go with black, navy, grey, and brown. It does not demand attention. It earns it.
